About us
Jennifer Stone
Speech therapist and practice owner
Hi, I’m Jen.
I am originally from the buzzing city of Johannesburg but have been living and working in KwaZulu-Natal since 2017.
I completed my BSc Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Cape Town, and am both neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT) and LSVT LOUD® certified.
I have worked in a rural hospital setting as well as in the third largest hospital in the world before opening my own practice in 2018. My passion is working with adult clients, particularly those with neurological difficulties, a field in which I have more than 16 years of experience.
I am privileged to love my work as a speech therapist, and am passionate about journeying with clients as we work towards restoring skills in the areas of eating, drinking and communicating. I believe that these skills are so much a part of what makes us human, enables us to build relationships, and allows us to participate in the world around us.
Amanda Viljoen
Speech therapist
Hi! I’m Amanda.
I am originally from Joburg and obtained my BA Speech-Language Pathology degree at the University of Pretoria.
My path to becoming a speech therapist has been shaped by a deep curiosity about people, communication, and culture. Before training as a speech therapist, I completed my BA Humanities and BA Honours in Mandarin at the University of Stellenbosch, followed by three years teaching English in China. These experiences deepened my understanding of language, communication and human connection - all of which continue to enrich my work as a speech therapist.
I feel very lucky to have a career that enables me to support clients as they regain confidence, connection, enjoyment, and independence in their daily lives, and this is why I am so passionate about working with adults in neuro-rehabilitation.
What matters most to me is creating a warm, safe space where clients and their families feel understood, valued, and empowered. Every person’s story is unique, and it is a privilege to walk alongside them as they rebuild skills in ways that honour their goals and values.
“You will remain in my mind as a therapist of people, a sympathetic counselor, desiring to help, to heal and then, to send away a better person.”
